Saving Punjab has a great Volunteer opportunity for anyone who has a
keen interest and passion for Punjab. Saving Punjab is looking for a
Research Volunteer to research the key issues in Punjab across the
topics of Agriculture, Finance, Health, Social and Religion. The focus
of this role is to conduct research so that Saving Punjab can
better understand the problems in Punjab whilst also looking at
sustainable solutions.
The researcher must be able to effectively
communicate and deliver their findings to the Saving Punjab team, and
preferably present research at events, however this is not a requirement
of the role.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Researching the current issues
in Punjab including looking at Agriculture, Finance, Health, Social
and Religion through primary and secondary data
- Researching existing models and finding long-term sustainable solutions to Punjab’s issues
- Conducting desktop research using a range of sources such as, books,
journal articles, digital media, news, surveys and interviews to gather
data
- Conducting fieldwork and tests when required
- Recording and logging research findings and referencing sources
- Analysing and interpreting patterns and trends
- Maintaining and protecting electronic databases
- Anticipating research issues and promptly resolving them
- Promptly reporting any problems to the relevant stakeholders
- Writing reports and articles on the research found
- Regularly communicating with Project Managers on research being conducted
- Writing proposals and delivering presentations when required
- Use expertise to find correlation and causations to the problems in Punjab.
Desirable Skills:
- Passion for Punjab
- Some research background (not essential)
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Sensitivity and discretion with personal information
- Able to work independently
Time Commitment:
A minimum commitment of 6 hours per week up to 12 hours per week.
